Colossians 3:1-2 The Message So if you're serious about living this new resurrection life with Christ, act like it. Pursue the things over which Christ presides. Don't shuffle along, eyes to the ground, absorbed with the things right in front of you. Look up, and be alert to what is going on around Christ—that's where the action is. See things from his perspective.
Colossians 3:1-2 NKJV If then you were raised with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ is, sitting at the right hand of God. Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth.
It's been a busy day today. I did manage to make it out of bed this morning early enough to have my morning time in the Word and in prayer, but not early enough to journal before my day started.
It's been a day full of conference calls and my weekly one-on-one with my sales manager. This is usually the time during the week where the reality of the success of my business comes under scrutiny. Think of it as kinda like going to the dentist when you know you haven't brushed or flossed at the recommended frequency of the hygienist. It's really not that big of a deal, but it still seems to create some uneasiness. Seriously, how silly is that?
I've recognized that I have gotten unplugged from the sermon series that I have been listening to by Keith Moore on the Kingdom of God and that the revelation of the Kingdom isn't as strong today. I've also lowered my gaze somewhat from things that are above to things of this earth. I haven't been acting "seriously", as the verse above says, in the last couple of days.
Ok - time to "set my face as flint" (or get determined) about getting back on track. I will get to bed early tonight and listen to a sermon before coasting off to sleep. Then get up EARLY, EARLY and spend some quality time to prep myself to be used of God in fellowship with the guys at Men's Bible Study tomorrow.
Be Blessed!
